Shavonne Murphy
Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate
My mission is to assist individuals in reaching their full potential. I am passionate about breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health and creating a safe space for people to share their struggles and learn healthy coping mechanisms.
As a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate, I hold a bachelor's degree in Social Work and Sociology from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and a master's degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Over the past 12 years, I have worked with people of all ages in a variety of settings, including schools, homes, outpatient facilities, and healthcare centers.
My approach to client connection is centered around building personal relationships and finding common ground through meaningful conversations. I prioritize empathy, diversity, equity, and inclusion to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued, regardless of their background.
My experience includes treating various psychiatric conditions in both children and adults, such as depression, grief, anxiety, attachment disorders, and adjustment disorders. I use a range of therapeutic techniques, including client-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, play therapy (with children), and cognitive-behavioral therapy, to help individuals make better decisions, gain more insight, and embrace life's challenges.
I commend you for taking the first step towards improving your mental health and look forward to working collaboratively with you to best meet your needs.
