Scotty Carpenter
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
I have a passion for helping people find their way in a world that can be challenging and confusing. Life is meant to be filled with purpose, and we long to be whole. I am a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate.
Most of my professional experience comes from my role as a senior pastor for 25 years. I have served as a pastor in North Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, and Alabama. As a pastor I walked with people through grief and loss, career changes, leadership decisions, discovering hopes and dreams, family choices, questions about God, and intellectual dilemmas. I have an understanding of what it means to go through difficult times to emerge stronger.
As a counselor, I use research-based counseling methods to help people reach their life goals. We discover and build upon the strengths that you have giving you the resources that you need to succeed. I listen to each person and design our time together based on what works best for you. I am able to integrate theology and/or existential ideas into sessions as little or as much as you desire. I want you to reach your goals for a healthy future.
Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky. Additionally, I have a Ph.D. and Master's degree of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
